Moorelight Studios, LLC creates and offers limited-edition fine art, literary works, and other creative works. Because many Moorelight Studios products are produced specifically for the purchaser, signed, numbered, limited in edition, or otherwise prepared for individual acquisition, our return policies differ from those of conventional retail stores.
Please review this policy carefully before completing your purchase.
Fine Art Purchases
Fine-art photographs offered through Convergence Fine Art / Moorelight Studios are produced to order and may be limited-edition, signed, numbered, accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, or otherwise prepared specifically for the acquiring collector.
For that reason, fine-art purchases are generally final once production has begun, except in cases of shipping damage, production defect, an incorrect item being supplied, or another fulfillment error attributable to Moorelight Studios or its production partners.
Order Cancellations
If you need to cancel a fine-art order, please contact Moorelight Studios at hello@moorelightstudios.com as soon as possible.
If production has not yet begun, we will make every reasonable effort to cancel the order and issue a refund.
Once production, fabrication, printing, mounting, finishing, signing, preparation, or fulfillment has begun, the order may no longer be eligible for cancellation or refund.
Shipping Damage
Please inspect your artwork and its packaging as soon as reasonably possible after delivery.
Any visible or suspected shipping damage should be reported to Moorelight Studios within 48 hours of delivery at hello@moorelightstudios.com.
Please provide photographs showing:
- the artwork and the damage;
- the exterior shipping container;
- the interior packaging and protective materials;
- the shipping label; and
- any visible damage to the box, crate, tube, frame, acrylic, metal, print, or other presentation materials.
Do not discard the artwork or any packaging materials. The original packaging, labels, protective materials, and damaged work may need to be retained for inspection by the carrier, insurer, production partner, or Moorelight Studios.
Reports received after 48 hours will still be reviewed, but a delay may affect our ability to document or pursue a shipping or insurance claim.
Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Work
If an artwork arrives damaged, contains a verified production defect, or differs materially from the work and presentation ordered, Moorelight Studios will review the circumstances and determine an appropriate resolution.
Depending upon the circumstances, that resolution may include:
- replacement or reproduction of the work;
- repair or remediation when appropriate;
- replacement of an affected component;
- an approved return; or
- a full or partial refund.
We will work directly with the collector, production partner, carrier, and insurer as appropriate.
Authorized Returns
Please do not return artwork without first contacting Moorelight Studios.
Any return must receive authorization and return instructions from Moorelight Studios before shipment.
Unauthorized returns, including artwork shipped directly to a production laboratory or other vendor without our authorization, may not be accepted.
When a return is authorized, the artwork must ordinarily be returned using its original protective packaging unless Moorelight Studios provides different instructions.
Change-of-Mind Returns
Because limited-edition fine art is produced specifically for each acquisition, we generally do not accept returns or exchanges simply because a purchaser changes their mind after production has begun.
We encourage collectors to review the artwork, presentation type, dimensions, edition information, price, and other product details carefully before completing an order.
Refunds
When Moorelight Studios approves a refund, it will ordinarily be issued to the original payment method.
Processing time after a refund is issued may vary depending upon the purchaser’s bank, card issuer, or payment provider.
Original shipping or handling charges may be non-refundable except when the refund results from damage, defect, an incorrect item, or another error attributable to Moorelight Studios or its fulfillment partners.
Limited Editions and Certificates of Authenticity
If an authorized return involves a signed or numbered limited-edition work, all accompanying materials must also be returned, including any Certificate of Authenticity, provenance documentation, edition documentation, collector materials, or other items supplied with the work.
A returned edition number will be handled by Moorelight Studios in accordance with its edition and provenance records.
Books and Other Products
Books, literary products, and future merchandise may have return conditions different from fine-art works.
Where a specific product page identifies different return or cancellation terms, those product-specific terms will apply in addition to this policy.
Non-Returnable Items
Unless required otherwise by applicable law or specifically approved by Moorelight Studios, the following generally are not returnable:
- fine-art works after production has begun, except as described above;
- commissioned or customized works;
- personalized or specially prepared products;
- digital products after delivery or access;
- gift cards; and
- products damaged after delivery through misuse, improper handling, improper installation, alteration, or conditions outside the control of Moorelight Studios.
